I tend to agree. A friend of mine has just spent money on an XBox 360, and while Iv not exactly said it to him, I am less than impressed with the graphics, the game play or the controller. Perversely enough, it looks better on a smaller standard TV than it does on a 20 inch HDTV, and neither look as good as my PC.

As for the Wii I think its an excellent family game machine (I have two kids and we often have tournaments in something), but aside from the group/family aspect of it, the controller is the only thing that it has going for it. Graphically we were playing games like this ages ago.

To be honest I think too many people suffer from some form of technophobia when it comes to PC's. A console seems to be a middle ground games platform for these people and all they have to think about is the "On" button and putting in a disk.

Quite why anyone with a decent PC would want a console as well is beyond my comprehension. It seems like taking one step forward and several years worth of steps back.

I love playing crysis on my PC, and I still don't understand why people buy consoles. When versions of GTA eventually make it to PC i can't see what consoles have over PC's besides maybe the Wii with its innovative controller. If your gonna buy a PC put a few more hundred dollars in and your set for gaming.

Its interesting to realise that despite moving to a different OS, I am now actually more productive than I was before, and, in some ways its due to those intelligent error messages; I don't need to hunt around for ages to try and work out whats wrong, which means I can fix it and get on with things.

Good comments.... I've been experimenting with the server side of Ubuntu recently and found that more rewarding (and although more complex to configure), far more customisable than Windows.....

At least now, when getting an error, it is descriptive and usually a solution is forthcoming :)
